About
Sean Kithas started his journey into music at eight years old when his father introduced him to the acoustic guitar. He continued exploring into middle and high school, learning the French horn in concert band. Moving into higher education, Sean studied classical guitar and completed a Bachelor of Music in Music Marketing and Minor in Music Technology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. During college, he served as 2017-18 Vice President of the UTSA Musicians of Business (putting on open mic nights, concerts, and the UTSA Underground annual festival), worked as a research assistant to UTSA Music Marketing professor Dr. Stan Renard, and completed an internship with the Texas Music Office, a state-funded office within the Office of the Governor in Austin, TX.
Sean was also one of the first people to hold a college music residency in a Texas senior living community, a program established in other states but very new to the State of Texas. Joining the Franklin Park Alamo Heights senior living community in 2017, he performed 3 hours weekly for residents of independent living, assisted living, and memory care living facilities in return for room and board. Sean finished the residency in December 2019 after almost 3 years, gaining a wealth of performance experience, musical knowledge, and lasting relationships and wisdom from the staff and residents. He even met his current fianceé there. Sean currently works as the Marketing Director for the performing arts nonprofit Musical Bridges Around the World, which provides access to arts for all through free world-class music and visual arts programming. |
